Discussion Question: Conflict of Interest
The Today Show had a segment on global warming today and showed products that we can use to reduce our impact on global warming. First up, Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFLs). Does anyone see a conflict of interest with the parent company of NBC? Does this bother you?

This is an interesting issue. KB
not really, I just think the Today Show is trying to get the word out to everyone about helping the environment. If it's effective, I'm sure the NBC network will get on the topic of Global Warming as soon as possible.
I don't see a conflict of interest. Global Warmming is an issue for everyone these days, exspecialy since storm season is comeing upon us. We have to put the blame on something when the storms hit. NBC will also remark on global warming in their own way. There is the new Discovery Channel show out, I bet there will be alot of conservation disscusion on the news channels now.
This situation doesn't bother me. I don't feel there should be a conflict of interest with the parent company. Generally, citizens usually support products and efforts made by companys to help the environment and the global warming epidemic. If anything, I would say NBC needs to jump on the bandwagon and portray more awareness towards the environmental effort.
